My Russian tort and I are moving this weekend. We are just moving an hour away, so the drive won't be too bad for him. I am building him a new enclosure though and I'm afraid that he'll get too stressed with all the changes happening. I know stress can be very harmful to torts. Is there anything I can do to make sure he has a smooth transition?

They adjust slowly. Give him time to settle in. Plenty of soaks, and leave him alone as much as possible. Use old hides, food and water dish ... as much as possible, familiar stuff. He wil be ok. Good luck.

I agree. Plus, try to set up his new habitat the same as the old one was.

This one is obvious, but set up the enclosure before you move so you can put him in there as soon as you arrive. Make sure temps are right so that he has somewhere to warm up after the trip

Alright, thanks everyone! I was planning on doing most of this anyway :) I worry about my tort.
