Ok so I love to read and solid books are my favorite research method (the interaction on this forum is invaluable but I like to have paper in my hands to go out and sit with the animals )
I thought a thread of everyone's favorite tortoise related material would be nice... If this has already been done let me know, I didn't search the archives very hard for it.
I would be especially interested in a good field guide style book with tortoises of the world if anyone has any suggestions...with pictures, basic habitat, taxonomic information that sort of thing. Most of my info searching has been species specific based on torts that have come up in threads here but I feel like I'm still not getting the whole picture.
Also I would like a good medical text for properly informed vet visits.
This is my current tortoise library...
Probably the greatest Star book in print.

This is a bit basic but I think its a good beginner book and there are lots of good pics and graphics

This is a great Sulcata book for people thinking about getting one or if you just want reference material.

And I've been thinking about getting this one...I assume that is great because it has Fife in the author name but it's a bit expensive for a little paperback so it's been sitting in my amazon cart... Anyone have it that can give me a review.

Can't wait to see what everyone recommends!
