My wife surprised me for my birthday and I got a Concrete Tortoise Statue for our front yard. It weighs about 450-500 Lbs, all solid concrete. We had to use a Engine hoist to lift it from the delivery pallot to the final place in the garden.

She got it at Al's Garden Art in El Monte, CA. Pretty cool huh?

I think it is a full size Sulcata male. What do you think?

Wow! That is a really neat statue. What a great gift :)

Our neighbors have a similar one in their front yard, which my boys insist moves on a regular basis LOL

I was going to say that it looks like an aldabra to me. I love the statue!!! I wish I could find something like that :)

I have a little marble one. It's the same size as my sulcata (at the moment).

Here is the pic..........

In Southern California, go to any staue place and ask them to see items from Als Garden Art, especially the large tortoise. When ordering it, you can select what color pigment you want in the concrete when they pour it. The truck that deleivered it came from Fontana, CA. Al's Garden Art has a outlet store in El Monte and its was 10% Cheaper at the outlet store.

Blue Hills Nursery in Whittier, CA also has some in stock, but my wife says the color doesn't look right.

Cost is about $275. Not bad, just heavy.
