Hi I have 2 questions firstly what kind of supplements do I need for my adult Russian tortoise and how much of it and also can you recommend the supplements I should use

And secondly I know that grocery food isn’t the best for a tortoise but if I don’t have the option. To grow my own food so is their any other option ?

Grocery store greens are okay if you can add better things to eat. Check out tortoisesupply.com they have a Mediterranean seed mix you can grow. Also Kapidolo Farms https://www.kapidolofarms.com/ has foods you can buy and add to the grocery greens. As for grocery greens use more of the better ones like arugula, escarole, endive, you can add some kale, mustard and collard greens, romaine and spring mix. Remove most of the spinach from the spring mix.
The food/weed toppers from Kapidolo farms will make the store greens complete.
Calcium powder a pinch twice a week is all that's needed. If you get the food toppers and feed the best diet possible, you may not even need added calcium.

Hello and welcome!🐢💚

I’m going to pass on this thread because there’s a really good diet link at the bottom you can look through, you can also use it to double check your equipment and levels etc😊

Could you recommend me a food topper for grocery store produce and how often and how much do I need to use it if I’m using calcium powder to
Any of the weed ones, mulberry leaf ones and even the cactus ones sold at KapidoloFarms.com.
Use them more days than not.
Example of a week feeding.
Day 1-5 different types of greens, no topper
Day 2-use 3 types of greens with some topper on them
Day 3-use the other 2 types of greens with topper
Day 4-give just greens any combo,no topper
Day 5-any combo of greens with topper
Day 6-any combo of greens, different from yesterday with topper
Day 7-one type of green with topper
Mix it up as much as possible with the greens, using the better greens more often than the not so good greens. A couple days without the topper is fine.
If you have an adult Russian you only need calcium about once week with a good diet. A baby should get a small pinch 2-3 times a week even with a good diet as it's still growing.
