Although their sign, slogan says "captive bred", there is a notice at the bottom of the page of adult russians for sale that says that they are "wild caught, imported in 2011" . What is up with that?

I would imagine the adults are WC and the babies are CB.

CB adult russians are not widely available in this country. For this reason, a commercially sold adult russian will almost certainly be WC. The benefit of buying from a reputable dealer like tortoise supply is that it will most likely have gone through at least a preliminary parasite treatment.

You would probably have to search pretty hard for a CB adult. It will take awhile for the breeders here to catch up as they just haven't been bred that long in enough numbers.

Well I guess the influx of wild caught animals will help the gene pool. Is the wild population being decimated?
