Hi -

My sister and her family lived in Costa Rica for a year. While they were there, a social little tortoise showed up in their back yard and became their pet in a way. It pretty much set up camp in the yard. My sis & her hubby even set up a little water dish and looked out for it. Pretty soon it would come right up to the door to see them.

She recently showed me a video of it munching on bananas. The tort had a very cool shell with a distinct swirl pattern on each scute and a pointy, all grey head. Since it was roaming free, i assume it is native to Costa Rica. Does anyone know what kind of tortoise it may be? I'm just curious.

Pictures would help :D

I will try to get one from her. All she could find when I was there this past weekend was a video of it.

That would explain I can't find anything like it in my search of tortoises. I will check that out.

Thanks.
