My 4 month old redfoot tends to eat grass head to tail, and I'm afraid this will make her choke or something. He doesn't seem too bothered by it but is this something I should be concerned about?

I would think not . Let your tortoise be a tortoise .

This is usually how baby tortoises eat. They don't have a real strong 'bite', so they tend to pull the long strands in with their tongue. It goes in long and comes out the other end long. My tortoise partner, Will, refers to this as long strand fiber and says its a good thing. He gets after me for cutting and chopping up the babies' food.

That has never been a problem for any of the tortoises I've raised.
