Hello,
I’ve had my male Russian tort for a couple months. I’ve noticed his poop was runny before, it’s gotten better but still a very weird consistency. He’s normally active and with good appetite. The last couple days he’s been sleeping almost 24/7 besides getting up to eat a little. Today while soaking he peed tiny tiny moving worms.please guide me as to what I need to do besides having a decal exam. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what type of worm this is and whether it’s dangerous or safe.

Take a stool sample to your vet. They will identify what type and how much parasitic infection is present. If those worms were in his poop, it is most likely pinworms. But you need a vet to prescribe the correct medication and dose. IF there is enough of a load to see some in the poop, you will need to treat. From the look of the poop, I would be there are flagellates present in a great quantity as well. That's why you need a fecal sample checked by a vet.

You don't say in your avatar where you are located other than California. That is a huge area, so really can't suggest a local vet for you not know where you are.

I'm northern Calif, so not much help, but others can chime in now from your area hopefully.

The vets I have dealt with, require a visit the first time to see and develop a "relationship" with you and your tortoise. The fecal check itself is normally in the $35 - $45 range. Office visit for first time ?? $60 - $90 ?? But prices can vary widely!
