Thanks everyone for the support and kind words :)
Her name is Jay but we are going to start calling her Houdini now. She
has shown us the holes in the enclosures. No more unsupervised hikes for Houdini!

She scared the crap out of my boyfriend for sure! He has definitely learned they need to stay under direct supervisor until the enclosure is fully Houdini proof :p

Yay! Glad you found him. I always try to imagine what they're thinking when they escape.

'Trucking down the road', lol. Where the heck did she think she was going, leaving the lap of luxury?
Your poor BF had to be beside himself.
Glad it worked out.

I agree and would not give up.
I would have a chair in the yard, where the sun is nice and warm as the baby will seek warmth.
I would not give up at all.
Please keep us informed.

WalkingRock has done this a couple of times, hence his Dog tag but of course, he's just a little too big to hide under grass or in a corner to avoid detection.

That's great! I can't believe she for so far. Although nerve racking, it's cute as heck to imagine a little one going down a road.

Yeah, I have an image of that little turtle butt trucking down the alley :)
But definitely when they are both big enough they are both getting dog tags adhered to their shells with phone numbers on them if they do get out :)

This happened to me a few years ago with a red eared slider hatchling. I was letting it get some sun in the grass I took my eyes off it for 2 minutes when I went in the house to grab my phone and I never saw it again. I searched through the grass like I was the dad from honey I shrunk the kids. I scanned the grass for hours and never found the little booger. I assumed a cat or bird scooped it up while I wasn't looking :(
