Hi, these are my 3 turtles. They are the specific turtles of Vietnam and the Southeast Asia.

This is the Elongated Tortoise.

The Elongated Tortoise is very easy to feed. He eats every kind of fruit I give but he doesn't eat any vegetable. But the others don't eat anything since I got it 1 month ago. They are very shy and always get in the shell so I cannot feed them. Even I left food on the ground, they don't eat any.
Although they are now very healthy and active, I'm a little concerned of the future. So if you all have any idea of how to feed the 2 turtle and the way I raise them. Many thanks. :X

Hi Sorciere:

I have never kept any of your kind of turtle, but I did have a rescue Pyxidea mahouti at one time. I'm not real sure, but I THINK you need to add some substrate to your pen. They want to be able to dig down and bury themselves. Also, while the pen looks very nice and seems secure, I don't think its big enough for that many turtles and tortoises. When I had the Mahouti here, I kept it on the moist side and fed it food that wiggles. A favorite, well-accepted food was night crawlers. I would chop up a plate of over-ripe fruit and a small amount of veggies then place a couple night crawlers on top of the pile. He eventually ate everything.

Since you've said that your two turtles are fairly new, maybe they just need some time to settle in. If it were me, (just my opinion!) I would make another habitat just like the one that you have, put in lots of leaf litter, and place the tortoise in one and the two turtles in the other.

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us . Your animals are lovely!!

Thanks for your advice.
I will try to find some 9 crawles for them. (I haven't because I'm scare of those wiggle things.) :">
In our country we usually live with our parents and grandparents and the house is often small square so I have to get the permission to make such many enclosures for the torts. But I will try to persuade them.
Thanks again.
It seems that Yvonne is such an expert in keeping torts, right? How surprised that you have Mouhouti in the USA. They are a lot like my Leaf turtle but it is easier to feed them.

One can buy almost anything here in the USA, for a price. In fact, there are several folks here, mostly in Florida, who actually breed the Mouhouti. I wish I had the space, I'd really like to have some of them. And the flower turtle too. They are so pretty.

Yvonne gave you the best information. In the past I had a Leaf and a pair of the Flowers. They enjoyed the moist hiding type substrate and yes worms were their favorite foods. The ones being imported here at the time, also came with a heavy parasite load, so in the future you should check that out with your turtles.

Your Flower is beautiful. Wish I still had a pair or so. Wish you the greatest luck with yours!

Oh! I'm so sorry. Sometimes its pretty hard to tell that you have a sick turtle. They hide it well.

Thanks for all your sharing.
Now I'm going to add some soil and enlarge the enclosure. But I'm a little wonder how to clean it up. And esp., I usually water the torts (b'cos it's very hot here in the summer), so the soil could be wet.
Please give me some advice for this prolem.
