Hey,

I am new to this forum, i own a 9 month old hermanns torotise (boettgeri) named Jimmy that i have had from when he was 3 months old.

I wanted to check that this plant was definately a violet plant, i have compared it to images off the internet but wanted some advice, better to be safe than sorry, i always get nervous when adding something new to his diet from the garden!

Thanks

To me that looks more like a pansy, which is definitely edible, but I also am not sure.

I have violets, wood violets, blooming in my garden right now and would love to know if they are edible for tortoises. ;)

It is brilliant and i love how they usually have more than one image for each weed/flower/plant.

That's a wood violet. It is one of main food plants in my enclosures and very good source of food. By the by , pansies are violets.

Jimmy..that's a great name for a tort! Glad you posted this question, as Sherman will get a bunch of violets for breakfast this morning along with his dandelions...
