hi everyone,
I have a red eared slider named Zack who I have had for 16 years and I have a baby map turtle that is a month old.
I read lots of posts about wagging turtle tails and wanted to comment on what Zack does. He doesn't wag his tail before pooping he actually wags it when he is snuggled or having his chin rubbed.
I don't keep him in a cage and let him run around the house. He has a water tub and bed he gets in and out as he pleases. He frequently will ask you to pick him up and then he wags his tail while you snuggle him. I think they can show emotion like any animal.
