Hi!
I want to awake from the fridge. Indoor terrarium be returned.
Everywhere I read that for the gradual heating.
Who used to do that a few days of transition?
Or perhaps it takes several hours in the heat and bathing in a day?
Thanks:
Tom

Hi Tom:

I would get the tortoise out of the fridge and place him in room temperature water for about 15 minutes, then put him in his indoor habitat. Every day you can soak him again until he's fully awake.

It's not a good idea to grab him out of the fridge and place him under the light. Let him get used to the heat or warmer temperatures gradually.

I leave them in the fridge and spend about a week to get from 4C to 10-12C by adjusting the fridge temperature. Then I bring them out of the fridge but leave them in their individual hibernation tubs and leave them on the cold floor of my garage where its about 13-15C. After a day or two of that, I soak them in room temp water and put them back in their enclosures with no heat or lights. After a day or to, I start soaking them daily and give them their basking lamps for a few hours a day. At this point I also offer food and they all eat it. After a few days I bump the lights up to 12 hours a day and they are fully back up to speed.
