Water Barriers for Separation

Hi all,

I’m planning a new enclosure for my three male sulcatas (just bought a new house). I have a large 2 acre field that is fenced at the outer perimeter and that I’ve found naturally separates into three subsections internally when it rains due to water pooling. I’m considering trenching and concreting these low areas where water naturally gathers to act as the physical barrier between my 3 male sulcatas, putting one in each third.

My questions are: Has anyone tried using water as a barrier before? Would they just wade through it? Would I risk them drowning themselves? How deep should I consider going? I’ve never seen them interact with a pond, river or stream before so don’t know what my concerns should/shouldn’t be.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Rick
