water bowl and food dish

Can I use flower pot saucer as water bowl for hatchling? is that too deep?if so, what are you guys using as water bowl and food dish?

I use a flower pot bottom bowl for my hatchlings and if you feel its to deep, you can always put rocks or something inside it to make it more shallow...

I found some plastic plant saucers that are made to look like clay and have some heft to them at a local Westlakes Ace Hardware. Cheap enough that I got a few so one can be in use and others be ready or getting cleaned. It makes it a LOT easier to maintain!

For a food dish, I fold a sheet of newspaper into quarters and use that. This way, I can toss it without worrying about washing it.

I am not too worried about washing the tortoise stuff with the human stuff (if you are worried about germ transfer during this, then you may not be washing the stuff right), but disposable plates are so much more convenient!
