Hi! My new to me spekes hingeback tortoise is having runny poop. When I first got her, I got her to the car and she immediately pooped. It was watery but was definitely a regular poop color, but had a pretty bad smell. Two days later she pooped again, it was a lot less but it was still watery.

She’s eating great and seems healthy, so I’m not sure if it could be parasites or what. I’ve only had her for less than a week so I don’t know if I should be worried.

I agree with @Maro2Bear , just keep an eye on it.
Where did you get the tort? Can you send images of it?
If it is wild caught, it could have been misnamed to avoid importion bans.
has all the info you need on them
@2turtletom is the expert on them
The watery poop could be parasites or low fiberous diet.
He has a great youtube channel. If you recently bought your tort, I suggest looking at it, it has great hydration tips
Here is the channel, hopefuly it is the right link
(It can be parasaites, but best to wait and see, hopefuly Tom can way in soon)

Thanks for the info, I’ll definitely check out those links! I got her at the new england reptile expo this past weekend. Ive been soaking/misting her and she’s climbed into her water area a couple times. Ive been trying to give her a tortoise flower mix that’s supposed to have a lot of fiber, but she hasn’t really been reaching for it.

This is her!

Beautiful tort! I'd recommemd feeding store bought mushrooms, loads of protein, loads of fiber.
She looks to be a kinixys (belliana) noguei, or just a noguei.
@Jacqui @TeamZissou , do you guys know what species she is?

Hi and welcome.
What are you feeding her?
If you look in the African Tortoises section of the Species Specific threads you'll find advice on the care of Hingebacks which will cover diet etc.

Thank you!! I did read that they love mushrooms, and will be buying them next time I’m out. I’m curious to know what people think she might be!

I’ve been feeding her spring mix with added spinach, some dried mango, shredded carrots. I bought flaukers tortoise diet (the wet one) but she doesn’t seem to be eating much of it.

I would say for safety, stop giving the dried mango, it can have too much sugar. Kinixys love mushrooms, and if you can give some earthworms to her, she'll dive to them!
A list of "easy" things to get:
Butternut squash (raw and grated)
Dandelion flowers
A few pieces of green lettuce (not too much)
Mushrooms
Earthworms
This list is a good place to start for your tort, hopefuly it helps!

I would first thing have a parasite check done.

Forgot to mention, on Facebook there is a group called "Hingeback Tortoise Group".
They'll know what your species is for sure if you post a photo there

I think it is stress . It has probably been through a lot of transport and handling so now it can rest and find a stable safe home. Provide correct habitat, diet and monitor. If it continues try to get some of it to a vet to check for parasites etc . Good luck with your new charge.
