Hello, i just purchased my new sulcata and noticed it had two bumps, The bump that was on the top of his head looks like it might be healing but the one on the side of his mouth look like its growing. Would anyone be able to tell me if there is anything i can do to treat it? thank you

It could be a abscess caused by a injury or possibly even a tumor but probably not a tumor. Sometimes it clears up on its own if you notice it gets bigger I would visit the vet.

Hi, hopefully it goes away as per thread 2 but sadly this could be a contagious disease we are finding on sulcatas (plus other reptiles) Please search yellow bumps on this forum, inform the seller and then ensure no other reptiles or tortoise are close by.
There are many posts but just provided this one to help....

Thank you all for your feedback! I appreciate it all. I read up and went back to check for any small bumps and didn’t find any. Does anyone know what other symptoms or signs I should be looking out for? Or how long does it take for the “yellow bump, Austwickia” to be fatal? He’s had it since august 22. Thank you

Other things to watch for is peeling skin, loss of toe nails, face sores, lethargy, not wanting to eat.
I don't know how long it takes for AW to affect a tortoise so bad that they need to be euthanized or they die.

Update: it looks like the bump fell off and it doesn’t look as bad as it once was.

That is great news! Maybe it was just a little injury or something.

Do you ever give him a good soak? How is his behavior and appetite?

This is not my personal species I work with, but it seems like he is a little dry with eyes not open as much as I would like to see. Maybe I am imagining things, but @Tom would be able to give a much more educated opinion/advice on that.

This is a great point that it is not necessarily an indication of an all-clear.

I am a bit more concerned the eyes look sunken in and face puffy on latest pictures. What do you think?
Yes, it doesn't look good.

Sorry the latest pictures doesnt really potray it well. I took it late at night while it was sleeping. He’s really active. Eats more than my other sulcata. He gets soaked everyday. And is gaining weight every time I weigh it. I’ll take better picture later, with work and school it’s hard to post often. Sorry for the delay
