What are the best things to feed a Herman's tortoise that are common in the USA.

I have been feeding my tortoise mostly kale and Catsear recently with many plants on the side , however I have heard that kale is not the best for tortoises. Please give advice.

You are correct that kale should not be a staple. Its fine once in a while, but not a lot and not every day. The best foods are an assortment of weeds and leaves. Mulberry leaves, hibiscus or grape leaves,
