I bought that specific brand the cypress Blend. I only covered half of the enclosure with it the rest has no substrate. Does it stain the Tortoise?
The previous substrate which was Organic topsoil made my tortoise get really dirty & the soil got stuck on its Scutes. It also got on its Food. Should I cover the Whole Enclosure with it?
It might initially. But it settles down pretty fast.
It starts breaking down quickly too.

It hasn't stained either my redfoot or my leopard. It covers my leopards completely and is the majority of my redfoots. She has a different brand of cypress on top that I cant find any more, but i had thay little bit of the bag left, hence just the top layer. She digs in though with no issues or staining
I pull it out of the bags with my bare hands. Looking for any debris. The color washes right off.
