I want to possibly use Florida blue PORTERWEED as a bushy and fast growing ground cover for part of my new outdoors enclosure. It's cheap. It's a native plant and it requires almost no maintenance.
My question is: Is it poisonous?
The internet says yes and no.

Is Blue Porter weed different from Porter Weed?
When I looked it up, every time they said it was safe they called it Blue Porter Weed. When they were saying it's not they never said the Blue part.

In my case, it's the Blue Porter weed with the blue flowers.

Below is from the San Diego Zoo, link also provided.

We don’t recommend it, but blue porterweed is reported to have a wide range of medicinal uses, from treating fungal infections to high blood pressure, colds, constipation, diarrhea, boils, burns, earache, headache, allergies, worms, and “nervous pains.”
