What is this weed?

Can anyone identify this weed? It is growing all over my yard around my deck. I'd like to know if it is safe for my tortoise.

Does it have a bloom of any kind on it? Perhaps you can take the pic and a piece of it to a local nursery and find the person there that knows what it is...due to it being a local nursery and a local plant? I do this from time to time with the nursery by me....there are two FRICKEN AWESOME folks there that have never not known a plant/weed per a pic or sample....

Perhaps Yvonne will come across this thread...she is good at plant id

Thanks for the idea! I may try to take it by the nursery and see if they can help. It does have small purple blooms.

dig one up. does it have a big tap root?

if so, maybe a member of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apiaceae

if not maybe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geraniaceae
