So I've heard members suggest using a "flat tile" to be your feeding tray. So what kind? I'm drawing a blank.

Garden centers or Big Box Store/garden centers usually sell various types of “hard scaping” tiles used for outdoors. I like these and/or a big old terra cotta saucer. The saucer holds the pilevof food a bit better.

Outdoor tiles are usually not glazed, so i think better. If you do have a glazed indoor tile, you can flip it over and use the bottom. Usually not glazed.

But.. i like the extra large terra cotta plant saucers. Easy to clean, etc.

Hope that helps

I use terra cotta saucers for food. Helps keep the food out of the substrate and the substrate out of the food.

Thanks for those pics. I have always used a sunken terra cotta saucer, but I might consider converting to the tile feeding tray method.
