That is definately a Pelusios turtle. An African mud turtle. There are several species and subspecies. I am 95% sure that is the Pelusios castaneus seychellensis - the Seychelles Mud Turtle.
Because some of the recent posts by him have seemed a bit confusing... "theTurtleRoom" is Steve, one of Anthony's partners. Anthony has his own account here as @Anthony P I have not seen him on the forum in well over a year now.Anthony @theTurtleRoom will know what it is.

Thank you so much I am glad to know what it is. If it is a mud turtle how do I go about caring for one? I wanna make sure he is happy and healthy .This is what it looks like now after being in some water.

This is a freshwater turtle, Pelomedusa subrufa, the African Helmeted Turtle. It is carnivorous and needs fairly warm water and a warm dry basking spot. They eat fish, worms, and turtle pellets. Very hardy.I was given a tortoise today and idk what kind it is or how to take care of it ..
