What kind of turtles are these?

Saw them at the Honolulu Zoo. The big ones have shells that are two feet long! They are kept in a pond surrounding a monkey island and there weren’t any signs for them. No keepers knew them either.

also attaching some photos of the sulcata, Aldabra and Galapagos tortoises they have in the zoo.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing!

Looks like the fourth pic is a yniphora (ploughshare) tortoise. I can't tell what other species they have in the small shaded hut, maybe a very old Radiated? At any rate, I hope they don't have sulcatas in the same enclosure. They may also have multiple yniphora. @zovick can probably tell us all about it.

Will from @Kapidolo Farms got a great pic with a yniphora the Honolulu Zoo last December:

Honolulu Zoo has only one A. yniphora. It is a sterile female. Her ovaries became infected and had to be removed to save her life after the zoo's ill-advised attempts at artificial insemination back in the 1970's and early 1980's.

The one in the hut is a sulcata.

Is this a sulcata? I can't see well enough to tell. If so, it's surprising that they'd house them together.

The larger one in the third picture looks like the sulcata. Can't quite tell what the smaller one is.
Also can't tell what the one in your pic it.
Doesn't surprise me they house different species together. Most zoo's do it all wrong sadly.
