What sex would you say? Male?

Hey, I just wanted your opinions on the sex. Short tail but have been told he is a male and mounting.

looks female to me. Males at that size would have a much larger tail but I'm no redfoot expert. Females will mount other tortoises on occassion for various reasons

Is that the tip of his tail? Or does it tuck under his shell? Looks pretty darn small..

The tail tucks but it is a short tail.

Definitely a female. The tiny tail and the half-moon anal schutes scream female. Even if the plastron is a little concave, it's definitely a female. At that size the plastron should be very concaved if it were a male.

Concavity isn't always an indicator in red foots unless you know the locale
