What type of box turtle is this ?

Not a box turtle nor a mud turtle. I can't remember if the South American ornate turtles have a hinge. Let's ask @Markw84

Ive never seen an aquatic turtle with a bilobed plastron which makes me believe its some sort of box turtle

DoubleD is correct. It is most definitely a Mud Turtle and native to the US.

The pictures in the first post look like a diferent turtle. After seeing these other pictures I agree with Zovick Nd double d

That’s all, I was hoping it was a box turtle so I could keep it but done have the outdoor setup for it to live comfortably. I will release it by a near by pond.
