Hi all! I’ve been going through heat bulbs like crazy. They only seem to last a month or less. Is that normal? I usually use a zoo Med heat bulb but I’m not sure if that’s the best choice anymore. Could I be doing something wrong? Any advice is much appreciated!

If it is purely for heat than a CHE (Ceramic Heat Emitter) is far better. Then you just put a regular light bulb in your other fixture.

Is this your basking light? Or is it also UVB?

If it is only for basking, try using a regular incandescent flood bulb. Probably about 65 watts. You have to look at the package carefully to make sure you are getting incandescent. You do not want a "replacement" or "equivalent" bulb. They are LED and produce no heat.
An incandescent flood (not spot) bulb.

If the one you are using is also your UVB, it's not a good bulb for UVB. Much better are the fluorescent tube type bulbs. If this is the case, I recommend getting rid of the basking/UVB combo. Get a tube type UVB bulb and fixture, and use an incandescent flood for basking.
