What type of turtle is this?

OK, thanks. Here's the underside of it. Do you know if they are native to Eastern Washington state? This turtle was found here in town.

Yes, they are native to eastern WA. The four sub-species of Chrysemys picta is the only turtle that convers almost the entire US in its native distribution. At least one of the sub-species is found in all contiguous states, except California and Nevada.
