I currently have a 4x5 enclosure made of plywood sheets indoors for my young sulcata. When should I be ready for her to be moved outside for a larger enclosure? Also what is the full-grown sulcata size? How big should I make it?

Tom, who has done a lot with sulcatas recommends them moving outside around 8-10 inches.

I've moved mine outdoors all day now that he's is 6 inches, but still bring him in at night. I'd probably leave him be outdoors at 8 inches with no qualms.

It seems like growth patterns are pretty set by the time they reach 6 inches*, so your biggest concerns at that point should be: 1) potential for escape; 2) potential predation; and/or 3) temperature/environmental variables.

*This is my non-scientific observation based on what I've seen with my one tortoise and similar sized tortoises owned by others.
