Wild turtles lay eggs in my yard

I live on long Island and from looking up turtles it seems multiple eastern painted turtles have laid eggs I'm my yard and tips on keeping them safe ?

Unless you have a dog that might dig them up or hurt them when they hatch, you should leave them be. If you do have a dog that you are worried about then put a fence around the nest. Also you could mark its location so you don't accidently mow over it without first checking to see if there are any hatchlings showing

that's pretty neat hopefully they will hatch and you can see lots of babies
