Zoo med pellets- are they necessary?

Hello! I’m new to owning a Russian tortoise. He eats plenty of plants, leaves, etc. I did buy a jar of ZooMed pellets. Does he have to eat these? Are they beneficiary to his health?

I'm no expert on Russians, but think of your tort is eating a variety of plan matter, then they're probably ok... that being said, since you've already got the pellets, why not use them as a weekly supplement.

They are completely unnecessary.
They might be an occasional treat.

Nothin' wrong with them. As long as you already have them go ahead and mix in some moistened pellets a coupl'a times a week.
