I have a few Zucchini growing, and flowering, in my garden right now. Is it OK to feed the flowers frequently while I have them?

The leaves are a bit spiny and tough, are these OK to feed?

And I assume the squash itself should be fed in moderation or sparingly. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance.

Yep.... flowers and leaves are good!

  • Common Name: Courgette (Zucchini, Baby Marrow)
  • Latin Name: Cucurbita pepo
  • Family Name: Cucurbitaceae
The flowers of the Courgette plant are fine to feed for the short time they are in season, but we don't recommend feeding the leaves or the fruit in any quantity and the fruit should only be fed to species of tortoises that are naturally fruit eaters.

Originally 'Courgette' was just the name given to young Marrows, and although they will still grow into Marrows if allowed to, in recent years Courgettes have been specially bred to be harvested at their best when only about
10cm (4 in) long.
