The purpose of this 'pictorial' is to show the differences in male and female K. erosa.. ie. color, gular and anal scute.
This first female carapace colors never ceases to amaze me [ note 'gular' ] -
Notice the very light yellow of her face.. and the deep V of the 'gular' scute [ under her chin ] -
The 'marbling' on the carapace of this male is nice -
As well as the 'yellow' of this males head - [ look at the 'spurs' on those front legs! ] -
And caught him starting to 'move' -
Those "Gular" scutes..
Male - the male protrudes and is a wide "V" -
Female - much 'closer' and sharp "V" -
Plastron.. anal scute configuration and concavity of male -
Female [ note gular also ] -
This male has a much lighter 'yellow' head -
