Stump Sulcata Tortoise 2yrs 3mo burrow

Did you measure the temps during that time in the burrow? Just because in my enclosure i have 2 hide for my tort and he almost always choose the colder one for sleep where there is only 72-74 F instead of the 80-82 F one. And he did not get RI since.

In the dirt Stump was 95deg when he went in and 75deg when he came out. My little one also chooses 76 degrees hide to sleep.

So somewhere around 75F is the borderline where they feel themselfes cold.

I'd say. It was 74 degrees one night this winter in the little one's hide and he chose to sleep outside of it closer to the CHE heat.

I asked Kathleen to get the temperature gun after I finally got him out. His temperature was 83 degrees and the ground temperature in the burrow was 72 degrees right where he was. Tonight the lows are in the 70's so I could have probably left him there and he'd still be in the 80's in the morning.
