Thank you! I saved the site. Should I still be leaving some food sources around--or let him fend for himself? We will have nice warm 2 next days and then night temps will drop into low 50s.
Fantastic! We have a box turtle deluxe suite:) Tomorrow I will get pesticide free grass clippings from my neighbor. Fire pit can be moved as needed:) I put roots on top per your recommendation! Any other tips?
okay--no raised flower bed then--we will just dig around maple roots to loosen the soil enough about 1 foot. will have plenty of leaves and branches to pile on top. I have one of those wood burning metal structures, maybe I will position it on top. So far Gimli the Turtle loves to go under...
I see! I thought they like the clippings for different reason! I am going to loosen the soil in what I deemed the most suitable spot in our urban back yard. It does not get wet/soggy, backs to the shed but it faces east. I am deliberating about putting a raised flower bed structure there as well...
Grass clippings are short here--we will have leaves in about 2 weeks and now we have straw--will a turtle like straw? He is a wild one we saved and brought to our backyard.
