She is a Russian tortoise. She has been slower/lethargic and eating less. She has days where she does not come out at all and days where she basks and eats almost like normal.
She usually slows down around this time of year though, I only took her to the vet out of precaution. I did not expect...
Hi,
My tortoise has a few masses, one on or near her liver and another unsure if it’s attached to anything.
My vet thinks it’s a cancer, aneurysm, and/ or liver failure.
I’m trying to get in touch with another specialist because the CT report also said it couldn’t rule out follicular activity...
She has had critical care, a little romaine, pumpkin, very little dandelion green, mazuri pellet, milk thistle supplement and baytril.
All of her urates have been soft. Stringy to a little thicker globs but all soft.
Actually she had her ovaries taken out 2 years ago. She had one large egg that could not be passed normally. It was removed from the area in front of her back legs. I need to check if it was just ovaries or not. I really thought it sounded like follicular stasis as her lipid levels and calcium...
Yes, she is eating off and on on her own. Maybe every 2 or 3 days. She is given 6.6 mL of fluids daily. Every other day the fluid is combined with critical care powder.
She was slowing down like she usually does around the fall, maybe a little more than usual. Not coming out as often, eating...
Hi all,
My tortoise has some unknown masses internally. She had a feeding tube put in about a month ago and has a recheck in a week. She is not very active but will eat regular food every few days. The other days she is getting fluids and/or critical care through her feeding tube. She is also...
Her CT came back and it looks like she does have some follicles growing even though she was spayed.
Her lungs are compressed be she has some fluid build up and her liver was not well defined. The vet said to see what else is going on in her abdomen she would need a CT with contrast… not sure...
I’m afraid to have hope, but after her CT and vet visit she was more active afterwards and ate well.
Before the vet visit she was up earlier than she has been since this started, which use to be her normal pattern.
The vet mentioned she looked more hydrated and more active than she had been at...
She had a ct scan and blood work checked today. She has multiple small masses in her pelvic region. Her lungs are compressed and she seem to have some edema.
He mentioned can we but my understanding was they usually don’t get cancer. She had her ovaries out but he said from what he can see they...
