This is definitely true and I will keep this in mind as I go forward! Do you have experience on deworming groups of tortoises before, I am planning on moving them all to newspaper and deworming over about 50 days to ensure they are worm free. Just wanted to make sure I provided them the best...
I did get them from different Breeders. The 4 Burmese and 2 Indian stars were all from a local breeder, one Indian star came from Morph Market and the other came from Arizona Tortoise Compound. The 2 Western Hermann’s came from different Morph market sellers.
I am almost certain the tortoise...
They are housed as species. The two westerns have always been housed together. I have not separated that Burmese yet as I do not want to further stress the animal. I was recommended to move them onto newspaper and dewormer in order to fully rid the tortoises of worms however I was looking for...
I currently have them separated by species. I have 2 - 4’ 2’ 2’ Toad Ranch enclosures. As well as one plastic enclosure which is able to hold the same conditions. They are kept on 3 inches of top soil & coco coir. Humidity is kept as close to 80% as possible and temps are 95 F under basking lamp...
I recently got back into tortoises. While I haven't had any since I was a kid, I decided the time was right and purchased 10 baby tortoises. 4 Indian Stars, 4 Burmese Stars and 2 Western Hermann's all hatchlings between 25-50 grams. I have been doing proper husbandry and been sure to do...
I think the temp is high enough because when I had it before it was around 100-115 degrees at the warmest and 85 at the coldest. She gets weekly soaks and has a water dish for to bathe in even though she doesn't much. I gave her a soak today.
For some reason it will not let me post a picture. I do not know the temp, my thermometer just broke because it fell and was filled with substrate. The humidity is in the green, and I have a 100 watt bulb. She eats maziru and ocassionaly letucce, watermelon and strawberries.
The last few weeks my young leopard tortoise has stopped eating much, and is always keeping her head in her shell. I also noticed her hind nails are intertwined so I clipped one and it started bleeding a tiny bit. She has a humidifier, heat lamp, and uvblight in her cage so I am not sure what...
Reptile 150 uvb light
Yes the calcium contains D3
I have straw berries, watermelon, I let them graze in my yard often during the summer, and 2 different brands of tortoise food that I ocassionaly use.
I am using a tortoise bark substrate, I used to have a humidifier but it stopped working. I always spray the cage and keep it moist, I have a hygrometer to check the humidity in the enclosure
I have a UVB light and natural light from the window. I have cuttle bone and a calcium container that I...
