My husband and I live near Portland, Oregon presently. I have two leopard tortoises that are two years old. I keep them in an enclosure that is 80 to 100 degrees during the day depending in which part of the enclosure the tortoises are with a temperature of 70 to 80 degrees at night. Humidity...
Thank you so much for your help; that is why I love this forum, I have learned so much about caring for my tortoise from it. One more question, what do you mean by the tortoise "flashing me"?
Interesting, I was not aware of this. I was researching how to sex leopard tortoises and I read that the males have a "V" shape by tail area and the females have a "U" shape by the tail area. Also I read that the male plastron is slightly concaved. And when I looked at my tortoise he had a...
Hello All,
I purchased a leopard tortoise hatchling a year ago and he is thriving! I have determined that he is a male and I was wondering how I would go about getting a female around a year old as well. Any ideas?

Thank you all so much on the forum for your help and advice. I will try these suggestions and post an update in a few days. I have not had my tortoise very long but really love him already and want to do right by him.

Thank you for replying. Yes, I have read care sheets. Problems started after moving to new enclosure and living area of my home. Before that he stayed on substrate all the time. I use cypress mulch. Temps vary in enclosure from 100 degrees to 70 degrees from side to side.
