My first turtle, I was about 13, walking with a friend through the Texas City Duck Park. I doubt "Duck Park" was the actual name of the place but it's where you could go to free the ducks near the dike. Well anyways; we were just walking along and I noticed something swimming around in the pond. To my joy, it was a baby turtle. Being young, I didn't know any better, I thought the water looked shallow and stepped in. Grabbed the turtle and went home. Placed it in my father giant fish tank. 9 years later. He is currently living in my father's front yard pound and is eating birds.... From what I hear.

Well, I didn't have the turtle for a straight 9 years, I moved around a lot and I thought my father could take care of it better since he had a fish tank. Recently, my husband was walking up the road from our house and found a turtle. He brought it home after remember how much I said I loved animals. Well after a short trip to the animal shop and I believe I don't have a turtle but a tortoise... I'll post some pictures up, hoping to get advice and to learn what kind and type he is because I don't know what to look for.
