Very true. My mom is the same way but not my step dad, he believes that you can't get something if someone else can't, my stepsister isn't allowed to get a fish and so I guess that means that I can't get a tortoise, even though I am 15 and my stepsister is 12.

I can agree with this in some ways. I am 15 and I just joined. My stepdad won't allow me to purchase a tortoise, because I haven't really showed dedication to any other of my pets. I think I have finally found a pet that I am truly fascinated in, and that is a tortoise. If only my step dad...

I have looked at many different websites to buy a tortoise. So far I see that tortoise supply is the best out of my options because they offer a lot of information about the conditions they keep the tortoise in. They also show great pictures to where you can see that the baby tortoises are not...

Also do you know if tortoise supply is a good breeder? I have looked at pictures of newborns and they have a smooth shell.also they are very specific of there hatching conditions which I know is a great thing.

I am thinking about building my future Hermann tortoise a house. I am completely new to tortoises and I am not sure how wide Herman tortoises get. So therefor how big do you suggest I have my housing be if my tortoise will be 6 inches. I was thinking a 20inch x 48inch x 8inches high.

I have read through the Hermann tortoise care sheet on tortoise forum and did give a lot of information but some parts of it weren't straight forward. Some places I see that you can feed Hermann tortoises lettuce but then in some other sources I see that you can't.
