The zip ties make the lid so tight that I need 2 hands to lift the front. The front has of the metal shelf has a deep lip that hangs over the front of the planter. I originally planned to place a locking mechanism on it, but it’s very obviously not needed.
This is not their permanent enclosure...
I have 2 Hermann’s Tortoises that are about 2 yrs old. I live in NY so it’s too cold and they’re too young to live outside year round. I just wanted to share a quick fix I found to make them outdoor enclosures for the warmer months - no building necessary. I know these will only last a few years...
