Hi hello!

I'm Robin. I am a 26 year old animal-lover with a passion for proper care and keeping of pets. I am married to a pilot who is gone 18 days at a time, so I have a lot of time on my hands. I currently am not working, but am a former veterinary technician.

I am a pet mom. All of my animals have very unique and special stories, and I am so proud of them. Specifically I am proud of Coconut, my almost two year-old Sulcata Tortoise. She came to me from a breeder here in Texas and it has been a labor of love to care for her and watch her grow. When I got Nutty I thought I knew enough about Sulcatas and was prepared. It turns out that I had no idea what I was doing. Thanks to this forum and lots of conversations at conventions I am proud to report that I have a healthy, happy growing tortoise!

I kept to the shadows on the forum during Coconut's first 1.5 years, and took in every piece of information like a sponge. I changed her diet, added more humidity, change substrates and more multiple times. I found most of the questions I had had already been asked on the forum, so didn't really participate in the conversation. It's just the start of 2018 now as I'm writing, and I'm hoping that I can become a more active voice here in the forum now that I've got my bearings and have some information to pass along. Information like the fact that I just built a tortoise table from Ikea furniture. What a win!
