    Rehoming Female Burmese

Hey there, so a few weeks after this post i noticed the tail started getting bigger very quick and as of about 2 weeks ago, he showed me that he is actually a male. Just a late bloomer lol so it ended up working out luckily.

Help with door material/installation on closed chamber enclosure build.

Thanks for this info, really impressed with the step by step and the picture is of the process! I actually haven't seen that design yet so that is interesting to see. This does give me some ideas of some of the materials I can use because this is a bit foreign to me and there's surprisingly not...

Help with door material/installation on closed chamber enclosure build.

Hi all, I am building a closed chamber made from EPVC for my Burmese Star. I'm good on the build of the enclosure structure but when it comes to the doors, I'm running into some questions so looking for advice for the following to advoid making mistakes or having to fix something down the line...

    Flashing in female Burmese?

Oh my gosh I'm so happy to hear that you have no idea! It would have been extremely hard for me to send "her" off to a new home if it had to come to that. Definitely no prolapse, it went right back in after popping out and has only popped out those 2 other times. Phew what a relief. Thank you...

    Flashing in female Burmese?

Hi all, I posted a few months ago trying to gender my Burmese who just hit 2 years old and I thought it seemed pretty conclusive that he is actually a she. Could it possibly have been a bit too soon to call because this is the 3rd separate time I have seen some flashing - twice while urinating...

    Rehoming Female Burmese

Thank you, I would like to but I just know I'll feel bad confining her when she gets much bigger and as much as I care for her, I think she'd be happier somewhere that has a large outdoor space that I can't give. So I don't think I'll have any regrets as long as im really selective on who gets...

    Rehoming Female Burmese

Okay thanks for letting me know, I wasn't able to find them but I'm not in a rush. Just trying to get a plan together and see what my options are.

    Rehoming Female Burmese

Hi all, I have been caring for my Burmese star since he was around 3 months with the hopes he would be a male since i live in an apartment and space is limited to about 28 sq ft. He is now showing signs that he is actually a she at about 2 years old, 450 grams. And since the females can reach...

My Burmese just hit 1 pound!

Okay, thanks Mark! I appreciate that and thanks for letting me know. I'm definitely bummed because she was the largest and most active of the clutch which I was told would be very likely male, but it was always a toss up. Well I'll continue to raise her until it feels like it's time to rehome...

My Burmese just hit 1 pound!

Gosh that's really upsetting because I'll likely need to re-home at some point in that case. Could it still possibly be too early to judge since it hasn't been 2 years yet?

My Burmese just hit 1 pound!

Okay here ya go. I believe "he" hatched in either March or April of 2024 and I measured the plastron - it is exactly 4.5" from tip to tip if that gives a good indication on timing to judge the gender.

My Burmese just hit 1 pound!

I can take some photos the next chance I get because I've eagerly been waiting to know but wasn't sure when he/she would be old enough to know for sure since it seems to vary. I read a post on here that said the males grow faster at first and are more bold/active, which seems to describe him/her...

My Burmese just hit 1 pound!

My little Dewey isn't so little anymore, just officially hit 1 pound! I'm a bit surprised at his growth rate but his shell seems to remain nice and smooth. He's now a little over 4.5" at close to 2 years old.
