Also if it is for an adult or a juvenile makes a difference on if you need a closed chamber or if open top will work. To build a closed chamber correctly sometimes the cost grows to the point that buying something already made becomes cheaper. Just an FYI and good luck going forward.

I prefer smaller enclosures for hatchlings so you can easily control temps and humidity. I personally prefer L shaped or 2 levels because all of my Hermans are what I call wall huggers. When they are active they like to walk the walls so longer with turns or ramps is always my preference.
