I never posted a picture of the full enclosure, so here’s that. It’s a 3’ x 18” x 3’ Exo Terra. If I had the space to keep all of my animals in naturalistic and bioactive enclosures, I absolutely would. It’s certainly my preferred method of care. Thanks again!

Update: he came out of hiding. Guess he’s finally hungry. He was, indeed, just buried under the substrate.

I’ve had him for about 3 months. Prior to the move, he was housed on coconut coir. The enclosure sits at 74-76 degrees Fahrenheit, hot spot between 84-88. I use a digital temp gun to ensure they stay this way, as well as a thermostat on the UTH. No other heat sources during the summer months...

This is a box turtle of some kind. You can tell by the way his plastron folds up and fully encloses his head into his shell. Not sure what kind of box turtles are native to Zimbabwe, but that’s what I think it is
