much appreciated, it's indeed a challenge to grow them at home and expect their shells to grow naturally smooth. So it's really a delightful sight of these wild caught specimens and see how shells are supposed to grow into.
It's been two years since I've found the largest Egyptian tortoise ever, and she's been doing quite well. Gained some weight, no visible growth, also hasn't laid any clutch yet and frankly I'm troubled finding a male that matches her size. I'm looking forward to be able to produce some clutch...
We all agree that Egyptian tortoise are cute little critters, but mother nature sometimes has a surprise.

And then there's this war pig, closing the size of a small Greek tortoise.
