My little hermanni tortoise is active and has a very good appetite, but he has sunken eyes or folded eyelids since I had him. My temperature and humidity are 27-32 Celsius degree and 80-90%.Uvb and uva bulbs are used and the other fellow is very healthy. He is growing fast at the moment. I think...
It's growing fast and now we can tell it's definitely a hermanni tortoise. Plus, it's SHE not HE🤣That's why she has small spurs on tail. Her shell turns light yellow from olive after I took her for lots of sunbath and uvb.
Thanks for being helpful before again!
It's a reptile carpet for tortoise I bought in the local shop.It has two layers with kind of artificial moss beneath to keep the humidity if you spray some water on it.
I have a 7.5w uvb bulb states it has full spectrum(opened for 7 hours a day), two 25w day-light bulbs (day time for 10 hours), and two 75w bulbs for heating(opened all day), total of five bulbs. The environment is 28-29℃, 70-85% humidity, 80×50×50cm. I feed it mainly with Mazuri and somtimes...
I give pet food for tortoise like Mazuri and other brands. And I have a 7.5w uvb bulb opens for 7 hours a day (enough?Too much?). If it gets sun bath I won't use calcium with D3.
This little thing grows so fast and has great appetite these days. I think the pinkness is fine but sometimes the pinkness becomes so obvious and its shell is full of small white circles, is it because of the growth? Btw, I'm not sure about how much calcium should I put on the food and how many...
🤣I don’t know now. Chris said it’s eastern Hermann’s tortoises (T. h. boettgeri) from the places like Macedonia. Maybe it’s easier to tell the species when it grows larger.
I am not sure about it either. I have googled it to id its Greek ID but the pics still doesn't ring any bell to me. So I suggest it might be a hybrid😂This is the website I found about greek: https://www.hermannihaven.com/comparing-greek-tortoises
Thanks for the website! I will carefully read it later.
I watched YouTube videos to learn but got confused in the end. Rather confused about if it’s possible to be a hybrid since I didn’t see any typical Western Hermanni like mine😂. It’s interesting to learn things about my tort:)
Thank you for the pics!
I personally thought it's an Eastern hermanni boettgeri mixed with unknown Greek. The pattern of its back shell looks like a Greek to me...But its tail looks like a hermanni... I don't know if there's any other locale of Western hermanni. Anyway, I am absolutely in love...
Thank you very much for helping!
Wow I thought it was a Greek but didn't find a Greek picture nor Herman like it. May I ask the key elements of telling it as a Western hermanni from the Easterns please? There's so lack of information about different Western hermanni, only the one with dark...
