Thanks Zeropilot, that's kind of what I was thinking. Do you reckon an 'off the shelf' type greenhouse would suffice and place it on a concrete base?
In terms of humidity, I've read on here that foggers aren't great for torts. What would the solution be to keep humidity up in such a large area...
Hi all,
Hoping all you knowledgeable people can help me! I'm looking to move my 3 adult redfoots into a large heated outdoor enclosure. They're currently in vivariums indoors, but I'd love for them to have much more space and freedom. Would you recommend an insulated / heated shed or a...
I haven't seen her eating any plants or grass outside yet. She did however gobble up some dog poo that I had obviously missed when de-turding the lawn lol.
Haha your bearded dragon just feels left out!
Yeah true, has been pretty nice today. Lola is currently rummaging through the bushes in my garden.
haha that's awesome, you've got this working from home stuff all figured out!
Ah yeah that's a good point, baby torts shouldn't be outside for long periods. It'll be nice when pumpkin can roam...
I might add some moss one day as an experiment, see how they react and get on, but for now I'll keep it as it is given they're still settling in
Meant to be pretty hot tomorrow (34⁰C), which means my two will enjoy being out in the garden all day!!
Makes sense, thanks.
I've got a question regarding pyramiding I was hoping you can answer. Does it just affect hatchings (during periods of major growth) or can it be late onset and suddenly appear on an adult and continue to worsen with age?
Do you mix it with the substrate or just place it on the surface?
I'm torn, as my two are adults I very much doubt they will eat it, however I'm not sure it's worth risking. They seem happy enough without the moss
Certainly will. Sounds like MARP will have everything I'll need.
Currently I'm using cat litter box lids as their hides. They seem to be working quite well.
I did buy some spagnum moss, but haven't used it yet. I read somewhere that torts will sometimes eat it, so it's potentially harmful. Do...
This is Ray, he's a cherry head redfoot. Like Lola, he's approximately 20 years old. He's got a fair bit of pyramiding going on but he's very active and loves his food. He's a great tort!
He's just having a soak in these photos as he was absolutely covered in dirt.
The guy who I got them from...
I think I'll order online because I don't have a decent reptile store near me. There's a Pets at home close by but they have a terrible selection.
Thanks!
