My star tortoise laid two eggs in my backyard two days ago. Since it’s winter here and the garden needs regular watering, I had to remove the eggs from the nest. Before taking them out, I carefully marked their original position in the soil. I then placed them in a container with soil at the...
My tortoise was accidentally caught in a trap and hung by front right leg for over 30 minutes. There are no visible cuts or wounds, but he's now unable to bear weight on that leg, although there's still some movement. I'm in India, and specialized reptile vets are very difficult to find.
Aside...
I want to share an update and ask for some guidance regarding the eggs from my tortoise.
Egg 1 (laid 23.3):
Showing signs of chalking, but I also noticed some fungus-like spots on the shell. I’ve cleaned it gently with a clean cloth and removed the visible fungus.
Egg 2 (laid 31.3):
No signs...
Got it! I’ll slowly increase the temperature to 31°C.
Here in India, the temperature can go up to 41°C, so I kept the incubator at a lower temperature to ensure the egg wasn’t exposed to excessive heat stress.
Thank you! I'll go ahead with the second worming.
I’ve made a homemade incubator and set the temperature to 28°C. By candling, do you mean shining a light through the eggs to check for veins or a dark spot inside?
As for the male, I’m not sure. I got her about 20 days ago, and the seller...
Well. I have posted new thread. It has whole story of the tortoise.

Please do read it and reply whether deworm her or any other advice.
I am familiar with urates, but this does not look like a normal urate. It is hard and brittle. This is the first time she has excreted something like this.
History of My Tortoise:
Species: Indian Star Tortoise
Weight: 1kg.
I got her 20 days ago.
Within two days, I noticed she had pinworms...
0.5 to 1cm long white round worms.
In every poop 1 or 2 worms(live wiggling).
It is female indian star tortoise.
Eats well. Drink water enough.
And active.
