Would they want to lick the path? Are they attracted to the salt?

I have 7 spur thighs wandering about my garden so obviously I don't use any weedkiller. I would normally use salt during the winter period to prevent weeds in paths etc. It will wash into the soil over the season before they come back out from hibernation. Having moved to a new home/garden...
